Got 10 minutes? The best free games for a short break

· 2 min read

A coffee, a commute, a gap between meetings. Which Blibzz games fit in five or ten minutes, which are better when you can't concentrate, and how to stop when the break's over.

Blibzz was built around one idea: a good ten-minute break. Not an evening, not a habit you have to feed, just something fun between the other things in your day. Here's how we'd spend ten minutes, depending on what kind of break it is.

When you want to switch your brain off

Plinko is the most relaxing thing on the site. Pick a board, drop a token, watch it bounce. Low risk on 8 rows gives you steady little results and a satisfying bell curve as the tokens pile up.

DVD is pure nostalgia: the old DVD-player logo drifting around the screen, except here it always hits the corner, within 20 bounces. Put a chip on a corner and just watch.

When you want a little decision-making

Mines and Mine Sniffer are about one question: one more, or stop now? A round takes under a minute, and the tension is entirely yours to set (more mines, bigger steps).

Higher or Lower is the card game everyone's played. In Single Deck mode you can keep track of what's gone, which turns each call into a tiny puzzle.

When you actually want to think

Solitaire on Draw 1 is a calm five-minute game; Draw 3 takes longer and asks more of you. Blibzz Sweeper on Easy takes a minute or two, Medium about five, and there's a daily board that's the same for everyone, which makes a nice little ritual with your morning coffee.

When you've got someone to play

Card Clash is a whole match in four to six minutes: send a friend the link and you're playing. A Sweeper race is even quicker.

How we help you stop

Breaks should end. After about 20 minutes of play, Blib slides in with a nudge to stretch, drink some water or step outside, and again every 30 minutes after that. He never interrupts a game and goes away on his own (and you can turn him off in Settings). Your daily bonus also keeps its place if you skip a day, so there's no streak nagging you to come back.

A good rule: decide what "done" looks like before you start. Ten minutes, three games of Solitaire, one daily board. Then close the tab.
