Play 8-ball pool online free: billiards in your browser, with friends or on your own

Pool, billiards and snooker explained in a minute, then every way to play 8-ball pool online for free on Blibzz: a friend with a link, a house player in a quick match, a free game, or Training on your own.
Search for pool online and you usually end up in an app store. Blibzz Pool runs in the browser instead: open the page and a minute later you're breaking. It's free, it plays on a phone held sideways, and the physics are good enough that real pool shots work.
Pool, billiards, snooker: what's the difference?
Billiards is the family name for cue games played on a cloth-covered table. It has three big branches:
- Pool, or pocket billiards: six pockets, a white cue ball and numbered object balls. 8-Ball and 9-Ball are the best-known games.
- Snooker: a bigger table, smaller balls, 15 reds and six colours, and a lot of patience.
- Carom billiards: a table with no pockets at all, where you score by playing the cue ball off the other balls and the cushions.
When someone in a bar says they're going to play billiards, they nearly always mean pool, and that's what Blibzz Pool is: pocket billiards on a bar table.
Three games on one table
- 8-Ball: one player takes the solids (1 to 7), the other the stripes (9 to 15). Clear your group, call a pocket and sink the 8 in it to win. The 8 in the wrong pocket, on a foul or too early loses on the spot.
- 9-Ball: always hit the lowest-numbered ball first, but anything that goes in counts. Sink the 9 on a legal shot and you win, even on the break.
- 8-Ball Pro: 8-Ball with a short aim line and a 20-second shot clock, for players who trust their own eye.
The full rules, the fouls and five shots worth practising are in 8-ball pool rules.

House players are always marked as house players, and they range from rookies to sharks, each with their own style. Training shows where every ball will go before you shoot, and lets you undo a shot or rack up again, which makes it the quickest way to learn what draw and follow actually do.
Shots that behave like a real table
Every shot is played out by the server with the same physics the game draws, so what you see is what happened. The cue ball slides first, then grips the cloth and rolls. Draw pulls it back after contact, follow carries it on, and side spin changes the angle it takes off a cushion. That's why bank shots, combinations and position play all work the way they do on a real table.

On a phone
Turn the phone sideways and the game goes full screen. Put your finger behind the cue ball to aim (the cue lies under your finger and the guide line shows where both balls go), nudge it with the fine-aim wheel, then pull the cue down the power bar and let go. Tap the cue ball first to add spin.
Nine venues, nine cues
Quick matches are played at nine venues, from the Yorkshire Pub (entry 100) to the Las Vegas High Roller (entry 100,000), each with its own felt, rails and lighting. Win at a venue and you earn its cue, part by part: the front at 3 wins, the middle at 10 and the butt at 25. Venue cues can't be bought, so the one in your hand says where you've been winning.
Free means free
Everything is played with free play coins: nothing to download, nothing to buy, and nothing anyone wins can be cashed out. Blibzz is for adults aged 18 and over.
