How slot machines work: reels, paylines, wilds and free spins
A modern slot looks like a set of spinning reels, but the reels are only there to show you the result. The moment you press Spin, the result has already been chosen. On Blibzz the Blibzz server picks it at random; the animation that follows just shows it to you.
Reels and rows. Blibzz's slots have five reels, each showing three symbols, so you see fifteen positions at once. Every symbol has its own value: on Lucky 7 Slots the fruit pays the least and the Lucky 7 the most: five of them on a line is the 1,000× jackpot.
Paylines. A payline is a path across the reels, one position on each reel. Our slots have 20 lines, and all 20 are always played. A win needs three or more matching symbols on a line, starting from the leftmost reel. Three cherries on reels 2, 3 and 4 don't pay; on reels 1, 2 and 3 they do. When several lines win on the same spin, you're paid for each of them.
Wilds. A wild symbol stands in for other symbols to complete a line. On Lucky 7 Slots it stands in for everything except the Blibzz coin; on Blibzz Slots wilds only land on the middle three reels and double the win they're part of; on Lantern Deep the Lantern is the wild, and during free spins it lights up its whole reel.
Scatters and free spins. Some symbols pay wherever they land, not only on a line. Three Blibzz coins on Lucky 7 Slots, three golden tokens on Blibzz Slots or three Pearls on Lantern Deep start free spins: spins at your current bet that don't cost coins. Free spins are often where the biggest wins happen.
Near misses. Two jackpot symbols and a third just above the line can feel like you almost won. You didn't: the result was picked before the reels stopped, and the next spin has exactly the same chances as every other. A machine that hasn't paid for a while isn't due to pay.
RTP and volatility. Every Blibzz slot shows its return to player on its page: 95.85% for Lucky 7 Slots, 96.06% for Blibzz Slots and 96.00% for Lantern Deep. That's the long-run average across all spins, not a promise for any session. Our RTP and volatility article explains what those numbers mean and how they shape the way a game feels.
