Reading the table: a beginner's guide to Hold'em positions

In Texas Hold'em, when you act matters almost as much as what you hold. Acting last means you've seen what everyone else did before you decide. Acting first means you're guessing.

At Vegas Poker the house dealer deals every hand, and the small and big blinds move one seat to the left after each one, so your position moves round the table too.

Before the flop, the player to the left of the big blind acts first and the blinds act last. After the flop it turns round: the small blind acts first if they're still in, the betting goes left from there, and the player just to the right of the small blind acts last.

Early position, just after the blinds, is the hardest seat, so play only your strongest hands there. In late position, the last few seats before the small blind, you can open up a little more. The blinds have already put chips in, but they act first after the flop, so don't defend them with every hand.

Tap Win chance at the table to see how your hand stands against the players still in, and remember that the bots are watching how you play as well.
