How to play Blibzz Sweeper
Blibzz Sweeper is Minesweeper the Blibzz way: open every safe square without digging up a mine. There are three classic boards, no-guess boards that can always be solved by logic alone, one daily board for everyone, and races against a friend. It's free play: no coins go in or out, but every board earns XP, challenges and trophies.
The aim
Open every square that isn't a mine. Your first dig is always safe and opens an area.
A number tells you how many of the eight squares around it hide a mine. An empty square opens its neighbours by itself. Dig up a mine and the board is lost; open every safe square and it's cleared, and the faster the better.
The boards
Pick a board in the lobby. No-guess boards are on by default: the Blibzz server checks each one before you see it, so every square can be worked out from the numbers. Switch to Classic random if you want old-style boards, where you may have to guess.
- Easy: 9 × 9, 10 mines
- Medium: 16 × 16, 40 mines
- Expert: 30 × 16, 99 mines
Using the controls
On a phone or tablet, tap to dig and long-press to flag. The Dig / Flag switch swaps the two. Drag to move a big board and pinch to zoom.
With a mouse, click to dig and right-click to flag. Click, or middle-click, an open number whose flags are all down to open every other square around it at once. Ctrl + scroll zooms.
On a keyboard, the arrows move around the board, Space digs, F flags, X flips the Dig / Flag switch, H asks for a hint and N starts a new board.
On classic boards, Hint points at a square that can be worked out: either safe to dig or a mine to flag. Hints are free, but a board cleared without one counts as clean. There are no hints on the daily board or in a race.
The daily board and races
There's one daily board a day, the same for everyone: a Medium no-guess board with the opening already dug, and the clock starts when it appears. Only your first try counts for the day's times; after that you can practise it as often as you like. A new board comes at midnight UTC.
To race, create a race and send your friend the code (or invite them), or join theirs. You both get the same board, opening dug, after a 3-second countdown. The first to clear it wins, and if you dig up a mine your friend wins. Leaving hands the race to your friend, and after 20 minutes whoever has opened more wins.
Tips
- Look for a number that already touches all of its mines: every other square around it is safe.
- Look for a number whose unopened neighbours are exactly as many as its mines: they're all mines.
- On a no-guess board there's always a safe move somewhere. If you're stuck, look along the edge of the opened area.
- Flag only what you're sure of. Flags are your own notes; a wrong one makes opening around a number dangerous.
- Clearing Easy in under 30 seconds, Medium in under 2 minutes or Expert in under 6 minutes counts as a fast time and earns extra XP.
