How to play Blibzz Pool
Blibzz Pool is 1v1 pool on a table seen from above, with real ball physics: draw, follow and side spin, bank shots and combinations. Play 8-Ball, 9-Ball or 8-Ball Pro against another player or a Blibzz house player. Pick a table, from the Yorkshire Pub (entry 100 coins) to the Las Vegas High Roller (entry 100,000), and the winner takes the pot. Free games, Training and friendly matches cost nothing.
8-Ball, 9-Ball and 8-Ball Pro
8-Ball: the breaker has the cue ball in hand behind the line, and the table is open after the break. The first ball potted after the break decides the groups: solids (1 to 7) or stripes (9 to 15). Hit one of your own balls first, pot it and you keep shooting. Clear your group, then call a pocket for the 8 and sink it there to win.
You lose if the 8 goes down before your group is cleared, into a pocket you didn't call, or on a foul. If the 8 goes down on the break, it comes back to its spot.
9-Ball: always hit the lowest ball on the table first. Any ball potted on a legal shot keeps you at the table, and whoever sinks the 9 on a legal shot wins, even on the break or off another ball. A 9 potted on a foul comes back.
8-Ball Pro is 8-Ball with a short aim line and a 20-second shot clock. In 8-Ball and 9-Ball you have 30 seconds a shot.
Fouls
A foul gives your opponent the cue ball in hand: they can drag it anywhere on the table before they shoot.
- The cue ball goes in a pocket.
- The cue ball hits nothing, or hits the wrong ball first.
- After the hit, no ball reaches a cushion and nothing goes in.
- The shot clock runs out.
Using the controls
Aim: with a mouse, move it over the table and the cue follows. On a phone, drag anywhere and the cue turns round the cue ball, or tap a spot to point straight at it. The guide line shows where the cue ball goes and where the ball you hit will run. The fine-aim wheel on the right, or ← and →, nudges it by a hair.
Power: with a mouse, click the table, pull back and let go to shoot (Esc lets go without shooting). Or pull the cue down on the power bar at the left and let go, or hold Space. Further down hits harder.
Spin: tap the cue ball on the right and move the dot. Below the centre is draw, which brings the cue ball back after the hit; above is follow; left or right is side spin, which bends the bounce off a cushion. 3D puts the camera behind the cue. On a computer: S for spin, C for the camera.
On the 8, tap the pocket you'll sink it in before you shoot; tap another to change it. With ball in hand, drag the cue ball where you want it.
Tables, fees and opponents
The World Tour has nine tables, each with its own look and entry fee: Yorkshire Pub 100, London Pool Hall 500, Dublin Snooker Club 1,000, Route 66 Roadhouse 2,500, Brooklyn Loft 5,000, Miami Beach Club 10,000, Tokyo Neon Bar 25,000, Monte Carlo Salon 50,000 and Las Vegas High Roller 100,000. Both players pay the entry and the winner takes both. Each table has its own cue, won only there in three parts: the front at 3 wins, the middle at 10, the butt at 25. It can't be bought.
Quick match pairs you with the next player who chose the same game and table. If nobody is free within 12 seconds, a Blibzz house player takes the other cue, with the house putting up its fee. House players have their own styles, from Rookie and Casual to Power hitter, Steady, Tactician and Shark, and the higher the entry fee, the stronger they tend to be.
Free game plays a match with no entry fee. Play with Friends lets you pick any table, set your own prize from 100 to 1,000,000 coins, or play friendly for nothing, and send the code or link. Training gives you a table to yourself, with a preview of where every ball will go.
A match that ends before the first shot hands both fees back. Leaving counts as a loss, and so do three of your turns in a row running out of time. Every shot is played out by the Blibzz server with the same physics you see, and the rack comes from a seed whose fingerprint is shown before the break.
The Conqueror Quest
The Conqueror Quest is a second set of ten tables, with entry fees from 150,000 to 1,000,000 coins. The first, Sakura Garden, is open to everyone and plays the usual rules; each of the others opens with a win at the table before it. In a match for coins, those nine play 8-Ball with one twist each, and winning at all ten tables earns the Conqueror felt, cue and trophy.
- Emerald Isle, Hands Off: the cue ball must never touch an opponent's ball.
- Atlantis, Tidal Eight: the 8 must be banked off a cushion into its pocket.
- Gatsby Club, Call Every Shot: call a pocket before every shot; a ball in another pocket doesn't count.
- Imperial Rome, Legion Order: always hit your lowest-numbered ball first.
- Pharaoh's Tomb, Cursed Pocket: anything sunk in the glowing red pocket is a foul and comes back.
- Valhalla, Berserker: a 12-second shot clock.
- Dragon Palace, Dragon's Fury: a foul gives your opponent ball in hand and two visits in a row.
- Olympus, Last Pocket: the 8 must go in the same pocket as your last ball.
- Cosmos, Orbit: the cue ball must touch a cushion on every shot after the break.
Tips
- Before every shot, think about where the cue ball will stop, not just whether the ball goes in.
- Use draw when your next ball is behind the cue ball and follow when it's ahead.
- In 8-Ball, break up clusters of your balls early, while you still have easy shots to come back to.
- With ball in hand, place the cue ball for an easy pot that also sets up the next one.
- Try Training or a Free game before you play for coins, and pick a table whose entry fee you're happy to lose.
