How to play Vegas Poker

Vegas Poker is no-limit Texas Hold'em at a full 3D table, played against bots with their own styles and moods. You choose a table and how many opponents you want, from one to eight, and buy in from your coin balance. There are four tables: Starter (blinds 5/10, buy-in 1,000), Regular (10/20, buy-in 2,000), High Roller (25/50, buy-in 5,000) and VIP (100/200, buy-in 20,000).

The aim

Win chips by having the best five-card hand at the showdown, or by betting so that everyone else folds before it.

You get two private cards, your hole cards. Five shared cards are dealt face up in the middle. Your hand is the best five cards you can make from those seven, and you can use both, one or none of your own.

A hand, step by step

The house dealer deals every hand. Two players post the blinds, small forced bets that start the pot, and the blinds move one seat to the left after each hand.

There are four rounds of betting: after your two cards, after the flop (three shared cards), after the turn (a fourth) and after the river (the fifth). If more than one player is left after the river, the hands are shown and the best one takes the pot.

  • Royal flush: A, K, Q, J, 10 of one suit
  • Straight flush: five in a row, one suit
  • Four of a kind
  • Full house: three of a kind and a pair
  • Flush: five of one suit
  • Straight: five in a row
  • Three of a kind
  • Two pair
  • One pair
  • High card

Using the controls

On your turn you can fold, check (if nobody has bet), call, or bet and raise. It's no limit, so you can bet everything you have on the table at any time.

Raise opens a panel with a slider and quick sizes: Min, ½ pot, ¾ pot, Pot and All in.

Before your turn comes round you can tick Check/Fold, Auto check or Check/Call, and the game acts for you when it gets to you.

You have 20 seconds to act, plus a 30-second time bank that refills slowly. When the time runs out you check, or fold if there's a bet. Time out twice in a row and you're sat out until you come back.

Tap Win chance to see your chance of winning against the players still in the hand. If you run out of chips, you can rebuy from your coin balance.

The bots

Each bot has a style. Some sit tight and wait for big hands, some bluff, some call almost everything. They have moods as well: a bot that has just lost a big pot can get rattled and play loose for a while.

They pay attention, too. The bots keep track of how often you play hands, how often you bet rather than call, and whether you've been caught bluffing.

Tips

  • Play fewer hands. Folding most starting hands is normal, and it keeps your chips for the good ones.
  • Position matters. Acting after the others tells you more, so you can play a few more hands when you're last to act and fewer when you're first.
  • Don't chase every draw. If calling costs a big part of your stack and the card you need rarely comes, folding is fine.
  • Pick a buy-in you're happy to lose and stick to it. A rebuy is one tap away, so decide before you sit down how many you'll take.
  • Friday Poker Night pays 2× XP all day Friday, and doubles your day's winnings at solo tables, if you're logged in.
  • Winning against bots in a social casino doesn't mean you'd win at real-money poker.
