How to play Vegas Craps

Vegas Craps puts you at a full double-ended 3D table. Up to four bots join you and take turns with the dice, and you shoot first. It looks busy, but you only need one bet to play: the pass line. Everything else is optional.

The aim

The first roll of a round is the come-out. A 7 or 11 wins the pass line; a 2, 3 or 12 (craps) loses it.

Any other number (4, 5, 6, 8, 9 or 10) becomes the point, and the ON puck goes on it. The shooter keeps rolling until the point comes again, which wins the pass line, or a 7, which loses it. That's a seven out, and the dice pass to the next player.

Don't pass is the opposite bet: it wins on a 2 or 3 on the come-out, loses on 7 or 11, and a 12 is a stand-off. Once there's a point, it wins if the 7 comes first.

Bets and payouts

Once there's a point, you can take odds behind your line bet: up to 3× on 4 or 10, 4× on 5 or 9 and 5× on 6 or 8. They pay true odds.

  • Pass, don't pass, come, don't come, big 6, big 8: 1 to 1
  • Field (one roll): 3, 4, 9, 10, 11 pay 1 to 1; 2 and 12 pay 2 to 1
  • Odds on 4 or 10: 2 to 1 · on 5 or 9: 3 to 2 · on 6 or 8: 6 to 5
  • Place 4 or 10: 9 to 5 · place 5 or 9: 7 to 5 · place 6 or 8: 7 to 6
  • Hard 6 or 8: 9 to 1 · hard 4 or 10: 7 to 1
  • Any seven: 4 to 1 · any craps: 7 to 1
  • 3 or 11: 15 to 1 · 2 or 12: 30 to 1

Placing bets

Pick a chip from the tray, then tap the felt.

Come and don't come work like the line but start with the next roll. Tap a number box for a place bet, the field for a one-roll bet, or the middle box for the hardways and one-roll bets.

Place bets, hardways and the odds on come bets are off on the come-out roll; the dealers mark them OFF. Turn on 'work on the come-out' in the table menu to keep yours working.

Using the controls

Undo takes back your last chip and Clear the chips you put down this roll. Right-click a bet, or long-press on a touch screen, to take it down; line and come bets stay up once they have a number.

To roll as shooter you need a pass or don't pass bet on the come-out, or tap Pass dice. With other players there are 15 seconds to bet each roll, so tap Confirm when you're done. On your own the dice wait for you.

The board at the top shows the point and the last rolls. Tap it for the full history and the hot and cold numbers. Tables run from Starter (bets 5 to 250) to VIP (500 to 25,000).

Tips

  • The pass line and don't pass have some of the smallest house edges in the casino, about 1.4%. Taking odds behind them adds no extra edge at all.
  • One-roll bets in the middle pay big but carry a big edge. Any seven, at 4 to 1, keeps about 17% of every bet over time.
  • Hot and cold numbers on the board are history, not a forecast. Every roll is new.
  • Over a long session the house edge means coins drift down, even on the best bets. Decide on your buy-in before you start.
