How to play Blibzz 2048
Blibzz 2048 is the sliding number puzzle: every move pushes all the tiles one way, and two matching tiles merge into one worth double. Make the gold 2048 tile to win, then keep going for a bigger one. There are four board sizes, a daily board for everyone and races against a friend. It's free play: no coins go in or out, but every game earns XP, challenges and trophies.
The aim
Swipe, or press an arrow key, and every tile slides that way as far as it can. When two tiles with the same number meet, they merge into one: two 2s make a 4, two 4s make an 8, and so on up to 2048. A tile only merges once per move.
Each merge adds the new tile's number to your score. After every move that changes the board, a new tile appears on an empty square: a 2 nine times in ten, otherwise a 4. The game ends when the board is full and nothing can merge.
The boards
Pick a board in the lobby. The goal is the 2048 tile on every board except the tiny 3 × 3, which fills up fast, so its goal is 256. Once you've made the goal you can keep going for 4096 and beyond.
- Tiny: 3 × 3, goal 256
- Classic: 4 × 4, goal 2048
- Big: 5 × 5, goal 2048
- Huge: 6 × 6, goal 2048
Using the controls
On a phone or tablet, swipe on the board; each swipe is one move. On a keyboard, the arrows or W, A, S and D slide the tiles, U undoes, N starts a new game and B takes you back to the boards.
Games you start yourself have three undos each. An undo takes back one move, tile and score included. A move undone and played again brings the same new tile, so undo can't fish for a better one. If the board fills up while you still have an undo, you can undo or end the game there. Making the goal without using undo counts as clean.
If you'd rather see pictures than numbers, turn on Item tiles in the menu: each number gets a Blibzz item, from a gold token at 2 to Blib in his crown at 2048.
The daily board and races
There's one 4 × 4 daily board a day, the same for everyone: the same moves bring the same tiles. There's no undo. Only your first try counts for the day's scores; after that you can practise it as often as you like. A new board comes at midnight UTC.
To race, create a race and send your friend the code (or invite them), or join theirs. You both get the same 4 × 4 board and the same tiles after a 3-second countdown. The first to reach the goal, 512, 1,024 or 2,048, wins; if your board fills up first, your friend wins. Leaving hands the race to your friend, and after 20 minutes the bigger tile wins. Races have no undo.
Tips
- Pick a corner and keep your biggest tile in it. Most good games are built around one corner.
- Use two or three directions most of the time and save the last one for when you have to.
- Keep the row along your corner full, so a forced move can't pull your big tile out.
- Build a chain of tiles that get smaller as they move away from the corner, so each merge leads to the next.
- Every game of 20 moves or more earns XP, and the goal tile, 4096 and 8192 earn more the moment you make them.
